School of Languages

The School of Languages with more than 1300 students and 50 staff is to providing language learning opportunity to South Australian learners to advanced levels in languages such as Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Croatian, French, German, Japanese, Persian and Vietnamese.
All classes are held out of hours. Most are held in a 5-8pm time slot. Every class has its own web page.Persian class’s’ website are amongst the best.
Persian is considered as one of the oldest language in this school and has been taught since 1989. Currently there are about 8 Persian classes at the school of languages mostly at the senior high school level.  Since Persian is accredited as a year 11 or 12 subject by the SACE Board of SA, all students can choose Persian as one of either year 11 or 12 subjects. It has the same value as other subject towards SACE degree.  Hence some universities add 2 bonus marks to the total of TER, when students choose a language as one of their year 12 and achieve a more than 10 out of 20.
